Martha Richardson

Sensei Martha Richardson started studying Cuong Nhu in 2001 at the age of 6 in Seattle, WA under Masters John and Ricki Kay. Due to moving around, Sensei Martha trained in several different styles of martial arts eventually earning her first black belt in Okinawan Karate-do in 2012. Martha returned to Cuong Nhu, training under Master Darius Jones, while studying at Clemson University. In 2016, Sensei Martha earned her black belt in Cuong Nhu and in 2019 she earned the rank of Nidan (2nd Degree). In 2017, she moved to Homer from Anchorage and has settled in. Sensei Martha continues her education in the martial arts via distance learning, connected with many other Cuong Nhu instructors, and reading just about anything she can get her hands on about martial arts, sports fitness, physical and mental development, and nutrition so that she can better understand and help her students.

Evan was born here in Homer where he and his brother enjoy just about every activity they try. Whether is it theater, baseball, video games, dance, a snow ball fight and of course martial arts. And yes, he is an identical twin.

Ethan, who is the big brother to three energetic sisters, shows immense self-discipline, patience and fortitude. When not utilizing his self-defense skills around the house, he enjoys video games, Legos, going on hikes and bike rides.
